I totally agree with you about not over thinking it, and to pick a costume that is not too controversal as to turn people off or set them on the defensive, espcially if they don’t know you.

Hi, Another easy costume for couples is as bird watchers. Some safari shorts,shirt,hat and binoculars and maybe a bird identification book would do the trick.

Another easy costume is Fred and Wilma Flintstone. Animal print fabric and some fabric glue for the seams to get the off the shoulder look. Big beads for Wilmas necklace and a club for Fred with sandals.

Fun ideas for a once a year party event.
