It was hard to stay positive this past summer, but it was clear to me even then that negativity will only hurt your chances of selling your best self and landing a great job.

Hi All - for any of you who follow MLR's posts regularly, you've probably heard a lot about my job hunt this past summer, and once again in this post! Lucky for you, you don't have to hear any more about that because as MLR mentioned I finally got my job! My summer was a summer from hell because of the job search but it paid off 110%. I absolutely love the school I was hired by; the kids are great, the staff is supportive, the administration is helpful and friendly, and the location is practical.

After 5-6 monthes of uncertainty, all my hard work paid off. So, to any of you who are feeling hopeless due to job hunting just try to keep your head up! It was hard to stay positive this past summer, but it was clear to me even then that negativity will only hurt your chances of selling your best self and landing a great job.

@Hanna,

Unfortunately :/

That's one reason I don't follow the traditional advice of 3-6 months emergency fund. I have closer to 9-10 months so that IF I lost my job I wouldn't run out and grab any job that I can find. I would want to be more selective and find a job that fits me.

I have bouts of conservativeness!

Yeah for most people, the longer you are unemployed the less you care about what the hell the job it is, as long as you have one.
