Weekly Mashup: It’s Summertime?!?

Yesterday at work I went to write the date down… and noticed it was June 23rd. JUNE FRIGGEN 23rd?!

It’s summertime and I hardly noticed!

At least this upcoming weekend I have two graduation parties to go to with HLR, and we might hit up the beach, too. Only thing that sucks is that no beaches allow dogs during the summer! I was really excited to bring my pup to the beach.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer, because I didn’t even realize I was in the season!

  • Your Money Relationship asks “how far would you go to get a job?” He lives in DC and accepts a job in Pennsylvania with the hope of getting a transfer to DC in the future. I wish him luck as it will be trying both physically and mentally.
  • Weakonomics blasts the current scare of inflation. Just because money supply (M1) increases doesn’t mean inflation will follow suit.
  • Suburban Dollar discusses 3 things that could cost you your dream house. This is an especially timely article for me because I am actually looking (casually) at houses right now! Blast those underwriters ;).
  • Money Energy goes over the effects of stress on spending. For me, the best advice in the article is that planning can help fix the problem. Also, a few articles from Neal Frankle of the Wealth Pilgrim are linked.
  • Financial Highway gives us a great list of honeymoon planning tips. For anyone about to get married, this article holds some GREAT advice!
  • Are you an interest rate chaser? Moolanomy goes over the effects of just a 1% interest rate boost. Seems rate chasing does have its merits, eh?
  • Bible Money Matters goes over the Cash for Clunkers program. He is skeptical of the program but offers great information on it for anyone intending to take advantage of it!
  • LenPenzo asks what the going rate for the tooth fairy is. Cute idea in regards to getting all of the gold dollars ahead of time. Give him your input on how much to pay!

Good list, MLR! Thanks for the mention. Unfortunately my summer is starting off with a business trip to St. Louis this week. Not that there’s anything wrong with St. Louis — it’s the travel that is unpleasant. Honest! :-)

We’re loving the warm weather now that it’s here.. I’ve been sitting out on my patio grilling all week. Love it! Although hopefully it won’t be 90+ degrees for my softball game tomorrow!
