Firstly, good luck with the application process, Her Life ROI. I can't even begin to imagine how much more frustrating my (already not too much fun) job hunt process would be if I had to go through 6 rounds of interviews and STILL not know if I was officially hired. Just stay positive, and hopefully soon you'll be gainfully employed doing something you love.

As to my favorite teacher, it's hard to pick out just one. My third grade teacher was quite nice and encouraging my reading habit. She also showed me quite a bit of favoritism during my tenure as her student, possibly more than she probably should. I did very much like her, and much of my fondness for reading can be traced back to her.

I hate those texting acronyms! I have so much respect for teachers nowadays because I can just see these teens' writing skills getting worse and worse.

Good luck with the job hunt HerLifeROI!

I certainly can recall funny and memorable moments with past teachers, but as an aspiring teacher, I also get to see the flipside: the inane things that students do. And believe me, as a teacher in a middle school, the stories are endless. One unforgettable example from student teaching: I gave the kids a geography quiz on the thirteen colonies. One student, who was particularly bad at spelling submitted his quiz with the colony "Virginia" misspelled. His quiz now included the name for female genitalia. You figure it out.

In reposnse to MLR's post, he is right about how crappy this application process is for securing a job as a teacher :( It's
super-duper competitive and frustrating, so wish me luck!!!
