Hello, hello, hello!

I have decided to open up the gift card giveaway to everyone for a variety of reasons… the main one being that thus far only 4 RSS subscribers have submitted for their chance to win, haha.

This will not be forgotten, though, and I will weight those submissions as TEN (10) entries each!

I have come up with multiple ways to enter into the giveaway so that everyone can partake in it, though. The methods go as follows:

1) Comment on a post

• Instructions: Each comment you place on any post on my site from now until 5/31/09 will be counted as one (1) entry.
• Rules: There is no limit on comment entries per person. However, do not spam the comments. Anything that appears to be normal discussion will be tolerated. I think that the difference between comment bloating and discussion will be fairly obvious!
• Method: I get e-mails for each comment I receive on my blog. I will move all of these e-mails into an outlook folder to keep a record of who has commented.

2) Tweet this link

• Instructions: Let others know about the giveaway by tweeting the link! Something like “Get a free GlobalGiving gift card from MyLifeROI http://bit.ly/3HgO5″ or “MyLifeROI is giving away a free charity gift card at http://bit.ly/3HgO5!” A single tweet counts as three (3) entries.
• Rules: Each person is only allowed to get three (3) entries because I do not want to spam the twitterscape!
• Method: I will search twitter for that exact bit.ly URL. If you use another URL I have no way of checking to see if it has been sent! I will create a file in outlook with your information and tweet, duplicate it, and move 3 copies into a folder.

3) Link from your blog

• Instructions: Let others know about the giveaway by linking to this page from your blog. This will count for five (5) entries.
• Rules: I will only count one link per person for a total of five (5) entries! If you have linked me, just email me and let me know.
• Method: I will duplicate that email and place 5 copies into a folder.

4) Follow the RSS only instructions

• I have sent instructions to just my RSS subscribers. Check your feed reader. Those entries will be counted as five (5) entries each, and are limited to five (5) entries per person.

When all is said and done, you can potentially get 13 entries + however many times you comment! I think it’s for a good cause, and it will be fun to see how this math/tracking the contest goes. Baker @ ManVsDebt has already said the card is his, though… so maybe you shouldn’t try ;)

General Rules/Methodology

• Rules: On top of all of the aforementioned rules, your state must allow you to win free contests.
• Deadline: The contest will run until May 31st, 2009. At 11:59pm I will close off any further entries.
• Methodology: Since steps 1,3, and 4 will all be in email form, they will be easily moved into a folder in Outlook. The only thing I need to manually play with is step 2. I will manually create a file for each tweet (I may regret this!) and place it in an outlook folder. I will then generate a random number using Random.org. The oldest email/file will be #1, counting upwards until I reach the newest email/file in the folder.
• Notification: I will publish a post on June 1st or 2nd announcing the winner.
