I have already announced this to all of my RSS subscribers, and wanted to let everyone else know: I will be having a $10 “giving gift card” giveaway in a few weeks.$10 isn’t much, but I wanted to show my appreciation for everyone that has subscribed to my content. Hopefully, you have also received an added benefit of content that you enjoy reading!
The gift card will be through Global Giving, a service I have used previously. It lets you choose a charity that you would like to fund. You can search by country and narrow it down by cause. I traveled to the Dominican Republic for vacation about 6 weeks ago, so I decided to put $25 into a charity that would help fund the education system.
$10 isn’t much, but every little bit counts. For that school in the DR, or that hospital in Kenya, $10 can go a long way when a lot of people do it. The idea of “giving gift cards” was previously mentioned in one of HLR’s posts, saving, spending, and charity. In my eyes, hopefully one of you will receive this gift card, think it is really neat, and then give out a few to friends and family for holidays. It will, essentially, be the gift that keeps on giving.

So, what do you need to do to get this gift card?
- Subscribe to my RSS feed. If you would prefer, you can have my content delivered via email. If you don’t know what RSS is, check out this post at Problogger that explains RSS. RSS is great and if you don’t use it, I suggest it!
- I will send messages to just my RSS subscription list that gives you details on how to enter the giveaway over the next few weeks. Follow the directions to enter (it will be incredibly simple, I promise).
- In a few weeks I will announce the winner via my RSS feed.
- You email me and we work out how to get you the gift card (physical or virtual?).
Hopefully, by that time, you will have learned more about me, read some good content, and… if luck is in your hands… won a gift card!
I look forward to giving this to one of you. After the gift card giveaway, I will be holding more giveaways for just my RSS subscribers. I have a few books I would like to get rid of :)
