Caught Off Guard, Always Be P-R-E-P-A-R-E-D (Comic #13)

Being so close to 100 subscribers, I was looking to get some feedback from you guys. Obviously I like the comics, as does HLR, but do you like the comics? Should they continue on as a part of the website? Are you ambivalent? Do you REALLY like them? Just let me know. I know that I am sometimes out of touch with reality, haha… so the fact that I really like them might not be representative of what you guys like :)

Unexpected Situation, Unexpected Results

Moving forward, I felt like the girl in this comic this past week.

On Monday I got into work and was just bombarded. Just so that you know, my two busiest days of the week are Monday and Wednesday. Those are the kinds of days where I work all day, with out a lunch usually. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are lighter days… letting me check the news a few times a day, catch up with some routine work stuff, and help other people out if needed.

Well, apparently my boss doesn’t really care about how busy my Monday’s are. He decided to have me fill-in for one of the other job functions AND do my normal job. Normally I wouldn’t mind filling in, in fact I volunteered to learn the job. It is a level up from mine so I want to increase my chance of promotion. But to have me do that job on a MONDAY?!

I wanted to react just like this girl when faced with this unexpected challenge.

However, I do like my job and decided to think before spelling out obscenities. Instead, I had a discussion with my boss  about what my situation was on Monday. I told him that going forward it would make my life easier, and the day run smoother for everyone else, if I knew ahead of time so I could plan for it.

I still wish I would have spelled out obscenities.

What Would You Do?

Are you more apt to go the spelling obscenities route or the cool and collected discussion route?
