I work from home now but I used to work a a payroll officer and I was appalled at the waste of resources. It was a light open plan office but the lights were always on, even in the height of summer. We had no windows and the aircon was always on. What a waste of energy! I love working at home in my own office. Fresh air flowing through the room and natural light. Lovely.

Our company recently forced duplex printing, but you can turn it off under printing options. I think it is a great move to save paper and resources. The company I work for has close to 100,000 employees across the globe and I'm pretty sure they made this initiative mandatory around the world. Good move I think. I went to Rutgers and around my junior year they made all of the computers in the computer labs automatically print duplex. You had to be computer-literate to figure out how to turn duplex printing off! They also started limiting the amount of sheets students could print per semester (the limit was pretty generous - I never ran out). I'm sure it saved them a ton of money and paper! I, myself, have 2 filing cabinets full of documents. And I am on the lower end. If we duplexed we would save so much space and paper.
