Weekly Mashup, April 5th

This week I only submitted to one carnival:

Other articles I enjoyed:

  • Stupid Cents had a post titled So You Won a Car? Keep it or sell it? It has to do with winning a prize and having to pay tax on it. What would you do? Apparently a bunch of Oprah audience members were annoyed about winning a Pontiac G6 because they owed taxes on it.
  • The Amateur Financier took a step back and evaluated where he stands on the 10 financial commandments for a person in their twenties. Anyone in their twenties, myself included, should take a step back and make sure they are heading in the right direction!
  • Weakonomics detailed How the Federal Government Prints Money. To some people capital creation is a mystical idea… so this is a great article to give everyone the basics on how capital is created.
  • Clever Dude is moving from consulting to higher education. Just an interesting article as a lot of people are struggling to find jobs. Anyone else making a similar move?
  • Studenomics wrote an article about a presentation he gave to his class about blogging. Interesting to see how many people didn’t realize money could be made from blogging. And that the people who knew money could be made thought it was EASY?!
  • Four Pillars wrote about Ethics in Business and Life. He mentions an article he received a lot of comments on that had to do with getting a good deal at a car dealership. They key takeaway was to not act unethically because you wouldn’t like it if the salesperson acted unethical with you. He also mentions Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, a great book.

Look forward to another week of posts! Hope to see some more readers and commenters!
