Welcome to the 7th installation of the Friday webcomics.
This is an issue that seems to be an on-going debate at my current employer. This is not a verbal debate though, mind you. This is a debate of actions in which management takes.
There are a group of managers who show up to work pretty much every day at 6am. By the time most people have hit their snooze button once these managers have accomplished more than you can imagine! By the time late afternoon rolls around (3 or 4pm), a lot of these managers are starting to filter out.
Then there are another group of managers who prescribe to the “new-age” sleeping in mantra! They will come in to work closer to 9am. They don’t accomplish anything before you or I are awake, but they still have their place. When the other managers are heading home to pick their kids up at the bus stop, these late comers are in the office to answer any “emergencies” that may arise. While you are at home not thinking of work, they are accomplishing more than you would think, too!
Which one is right? There is no definite answer in my mind. Which “belief” do you prescribe to?
