Wow nice article, very informative. I would also like to share additional points with regard to increasing credit score.

1.Always make sure to grab a copy of your credit report. Review all the credit information being shown on the report. Check for any wrong data, and if you found one, dispute them immediately with your creditors to resolve the matter.

2. Always find means to increase your credit score. The simplest thing you can do is to call the customer service hotline of your credit card agency, then request for an increase in your credit card lines. This can help your credit score get up to 60 additional points.

I also find this site very helpful in achieving debt freedom which you may try to visit: http://www.freedomfromcreditors.com.

Great article,
If you get your credit report for the first time, I would also suggest you to subscribe for credit monitoring and fraud alert. That way your identity will be safe.

@ Roger --

Thanks :) I set up reminders in my outlook calendar. So April is, say, Experian and I classify it to remind me annually. Then I set up Transunion for August and do the same thing. Lastly Equifax for December and voila... every 4 months my calendar reminds me to check my credit report and says WHICH bureau to use!

Good advice, as always, MLR. It's about time I reviewed my credit report, and this was a nice reminder. Keep up the great posts.
