Weakonomist --

The trip was great, actually much better than I expected.

Me and my g/f laughed at the people who would complain about the 45 minute wait to get in one of the a la carte restaurants. We just didn't get it... (#1, it is a 3 star place. #2, its all inclusive go have some drinks while you wait they have bars next to EACH restaurant!. #3, what would you be doing otherwise :P)

So if you are easy going the DR would be a great place to go. I have heard good and bad about Jamaica. Where are you thinking? Negril?

Knowing some spanish did make the trip a lot easier, although still very doable with only English or French and to a lesser extent German or Italian.

And you are 100% right about the Myrtle Beach! That was a silly mistake. I was thinking Hilton Head AND Myrtle Beach and obviously mismatched the states. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Let me know how your trip goes, my honeymoon will likely be in Jamaica, but we're considering the Dominican because of its value. Where did you stay? What did you do?

Also for the readers, Myrtle Beach is in South Carolina. It's about a 15-30 minute drive from the NC/SC border. NC has a much better coast.
