Weekly Mashup

I have been reading personal finance blogs for quite some time… and pretty religiously.

I used to steal my girlfriends laptop and sneak off to GetRichSlowly.org or FreeMoneyFinance.com or CleverDude.com when there was some downtime in whatever we were doing :)

So, without further adieu… here are the articles that I enjoyed this week:

  • 20 Something Finance developed a 7 course curiculum that would teach young adults the core tenets of Personal Finance before they are unleased on the real world. I could not agree with this idea more…
  • Free Money Finance posted a story of a man who knocked 7 years off of his mortgage by bringing a bagged lunch! This is more often than not a practice that is put on every frugal to-do list. But wow… 7 years? Quite impressive.
  • The Four Pillars of Finance had a guest post from The Oblivious Investor in which he formed an easy to understand analogy between a tangible goods industry and mutual funds (in regards to competitive advantage). Ever wonder why fund managers have a hard time outperforming the market for longer periods of time?
  • No Credit Needed shares his methods for professional change scrounging. Had I utilized all of these methods when I was 5 I would be pretty rich :p

Take a look and soak it in!
